The short film “Chekhov’s Gun”, directed and written by Abbas Hosseini and produced by Hossein Etemadfard, has been selected for the competition section of the International “Amur Autumn” Film Festival in Russia.
Held in Blagoveshchensk, a city in Russia’s Far East, this festival is one of the region’s prominent cultural events. The 23rd edition, taking place from September 14 to 21, 2025, will feature selected works competing in two sections: short and feature narrative films, and a theater section. The festival’s main award, designed in the shape of the “Amur Crane,” will be presented to the winners.
The film’s synopsis reads: “In a smog-filled dystopian world, a boy mistakes an Olympic relay baton for an asthma inhaler.”
