The short film Chekhov’s Gun, written and directed by Seyed Abbas Hosseini and produced by Hossein Etemadfar, has been selected for the 2025 Farhang Foundation Short Film Festival, a prestigious event held annually in Los Angeles. This festival, focusing on Iranian culture, language, and identity, provides a platform to showcase creative narratives from Iran and the Iranian diaspora worldwide.

With a philosophical and fantastical perspective, Chekhov’s Gun tells the story of a young boy navigating the ruins of war in search of saving his father, confronting a media-driven world and a reconstructed reality. Utilizing documentary-style visuals and a surreal atmosphere, the film explores the role of media in crafting “alternative realities.”

Previously, Chekhov’s Gun has been featured at notable festivals, including the 41st Tehran Short Film Festival and the 43rd Fajr Film Festival, where it garnered attention from audiences and critics alike.
